While the switches are stacked, they operate as one logical unit. With all configurations being done through the master switch. The commands you give to this master unit will take place for the entire stack. You can read more about how the stack operates on page 95 of the user guide. http://dell.

The R1-2210 has no method of adding additional ports. Here are what ports it is equipped with. 20 x 10G Ethernet Ports. These consist of: 4 external ports Connected to network (visible when the switch is in the chassis) 16 internal ports Connected to blade servers (not visible when the switch is in

We currently have 5 servers connected to a S25 Force10 stack with 2 PS6100 and a PS4000. We will purchase a PS6210 (prepare for future 10GB) and want to add it to the cluster (on 2 x 1GB)

Is 6248 capable to establish site to site VPN?

Before making this connection between the switches, I would double check and ensure that this is not going to create a physical loop in the network. For instance, if the S25 and N2048 connect to the same upstream devices, this new connection could introduce a loop.

The 6248 does not offer a VPN feature. Here is the spec sheet for the 6248, which outlines the switch's capabilities. httpdell.to/1JLLc0r A router/firewall would be better suited to provide that role in your network.

Dear Sir After loop condition was removed , it seems that the link status still "D-DOWN" how can I do to let it recovery to normal state automatically thanks

Forum Post: RE: Uplink port on PowerConnect 8024F went to state D-Down
The port state does not recover automatically, you have to "shut" and "no shut" the port.

Is the Windows 7 client able to ping the FreeRadius server? Can you show us the config on the switch? We can help look through the config. Is FreeRadius logging anything in it's logs?

Forum Post: RE: Dell PowerConnect n2000 Freeradius issue
The windows 7 client is able to ping FreeRadius when it is put in vlan 2 (it's happen when the client is to long to authenticate with his ID), before the port on switch for this client is unauthorize and client has no ip address. This is my switch configuration : !

I don't know why but i have reboot the switch and the authentication seems to work, but not the vlan attribution, even the authentication is sucessful, I am always in Vlan1. On the switch in Switching/dot1x authentication/Monitoring mode/port access control history :

Forum Post: Force10 S25 Issues, three bad ones?
I have three Force 10 S25s that we purchased from Dell. They were recertified and out of warranty (I'm don't know id they even came with a warranty) Anyway I cannot connect with any of them via the console. Nor do they get link lights when connected to an Intel X540-T2.

Forum Post: RE: PowerEdge 6248 VLAN config
It looks like you made VLAN 43 the management VLAN. The management VLAN is not routable. So what you want to do is set the management on an used VLAN, probably VLAN 1 and assign the management IP based on that.

Hi, The console cable for Force10 is different than the ones for Powerconnect, and the pinouts on the cables are not the same. httpswww.dell.com/Support/Article/us/en/19/QNA43618

Minor update. Apparently we have a total of seven of these and they all do the same thing. Also, We didn't purchase these Dell. We bought them from someone who bought them from a Dell Service Center. I'm not sure if these were returns and we got ripped off or not.
