In the terminal window are you issuing the command terminal monitor? That command may need to be in place before seeing the messages logged.

Directly connected is a PowerConnect 5548 switch. That switch itself has a few more PowerConnect 5548 connected, so there is a little tree of switches on Port Te2/0/9. I will further investigate tomorrow.
