If this is the only connection, then it must be treating this connection as not a port channel. I would double check both the cisco and Nexus to ensure that the port channel is configured correctly.

The thing that keeps coming up when I research this, is ensuring layer 2 connectivity across that VLAN is good. And check authentication configuration, but you are not using authentication.

Also i went over your example, the permit first was for local vlan specific hosts, followed by deny to the other vlans and then permit ip any any for unknown hosts.

It was actually the same in both scenarios. So assigning an ip to a vlan makes a difference? Routing is still being done by the Sophia though so the vlans will still communicate.
